Form of insurance.
The form of insurance indicates the limits and scope of the cover under the 'CRAFT DAMAGE COVER', which will depend on the chosen option:
In the insurance world:
General conditions:it is equivalent to an all-risk insurance under Spanish terms, in the terms and with the scope set out in the policy's General Conditions.
Institute Yacht Clauses:means all-risk insurance under English terms pursuant to the Institute Yacht Clauses for yachts, subject to English law and practice.
Hull Insurance New for Old Replacement Value Actual Cash Value
The hull insurance refers to the sum insured under the 'craft damage' cover.
It will only be considered for the purposes of calculating the insurance price, since total losses will be compensated according to the craft's current value and partial damage according to its replacement value.
The indicated values for a correct calculation of the premium must correspond:
- At the initial cost as new, if the craft is three years old or less
- At actual market value, if the craft is over three years old
Flag Spanish EU Non-EU Home Port - Boarding Location Mediterranean Sea (Europe) Mediterranean Sea (Non-Europe) Mediterranean Sea (EU + Non-EU) Cantabrian Sea
Geographical limit extension
The covers provided by the policy are only valid within Spanish jurisdictional waters. Nevertheless, provided that the insured craft has been authorised to navigate within a wider geographical radius and the underwriting rules allow for it, it is possible to extend the cover to two navigational areas by paying an additional premium.
Area 1, 8% surcharge for an extension to jurisdictional waters and/or European ports on the Mediterranean Sea
Area 2, 20% surcharge for an extension to jurisdictional waters and/or European and African ports on the Mediterranean Sea
